Guide Review - Mi Abuela Coquito
Traditionally, coquito is a Puerto Rican coconut cream liqueur enjoyed during the holidays. The drink is similar to eggnog with rum. Mi Abuela Coquito has that authentic homemade flavor with notes of coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and rum. David Kanbar, Abuela Company CEO, worked closely in developing the liqueur for two years with a Puerto Rican family whose recipe has been with them for three generations. It is the only premium pre-mixed coquito on the market. Mi Abuela Coquito is available at premium spirit stores in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and Illinois.
Depending on which recipe you follow, a traditional coquito can take hours to make. Mi Abuela Coquito helps the busy host save time by taking the work out of it. Just chill, shake and serve it on ice straight up or for a frozen cocktail blend with crushed ice. Garnish your cocktails with cinnamon sticks or a dusting of ground cinnamon or nutmeg.
