Taro ranges in size from a turnip to a rutabaga and it has a hairy brown skin with horizontal rings. The inside is smooth and can be white, gray or speckled. This root is often confused with yautía. If you mix them up, dont panic. The two roots are so similar that you can usually interchange them in recipes.
