Pineapple and Orange Smoothie

Nothing hits the spot like a cold refreshing pineapple orange smoothie on a hot summer day. In the Caribbean, an array of tropical fruits are used in a variety of beverages. The citrus flavors of orange and pineapple in this smoothie are great for cooling off.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz canned pineapple chunks
  • 4 oz pineapple orange juice frozen concentrate
  • 8 oz vanilla yogurt
  • 4 oz water
  • 4 ice cubes

Preparation:

1. Combine all ingredients in a blender.

2. Blend until smooth and frothy.

I really enjoy this recipe but I did it a little differently. I wanted to be nutritious but give my kids something tasty so instead of orange concentrate I used Dole AcaiBlueberry Fruit Bars. They work great like the concentrate but it adds a different flavor and it is very healthy. These are all natural and concentrate is not. So soften the fruit bar by letting it meld and use this to make a pineapple blueberry smoothie. It is very good!
