Papaya Milk Shake (Batida de Lechoza)

This quick and easy milk shake combines papayas with evaporated milk and sugar for a refreshing summer drink or light snack. Do not use sweetened condensed milk in this recipe. This drink is best consumed immediately as it will turn bitter if left sitting around.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Yield: approximately 8 cups


  • 3 cups papaya (fresh or frozen, cut into cubes)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups (32 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 2 1/2 cups ice cubes


  1. Put all ingredients into a blender and mix on high speed until the ice is crushed and ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Serve immediately.
